In partnership with a local grassroots charity, CEF Lyncx https://cefi.org.uk/home

we run holiday provision (SHARP), every 6 weeks during each of the school holidays. Other RMOs have also partnered in this project, in particular Blenheim Gardens RMO, which helps minimise costs for all, and to maximise attendance. The sessions are open to all young people from Lambeth, so it’s not just for those from our estates.

In our last financial year (2022/23) 1200 young people in total took part in the 48 sessions delivered over the period, with an average attendance of 190 young people per day.

The sessions are run during the Spring Holidays, the Summer Half Term and Summer Holidays, the Autumn Half Term, Christmas Holidays, and the Spring Half Term, which amounts to 48 days in total, 6 hours per day. Each session offers a diverse range of fun, active, and learning activities, for young people between the ages of 7 and 15. This also includes volunteering and paid opportunities for those who were previously involved and who are over 16.

The activities delivered during each period include (but are not limited to) sports & physical activities, arts and crafts, creative arts, leadership workshops, bicycle repair-and-ride sessions and Healthy Food. Each day, we provide a cooked meal for all participants, as we recognise how valuable this is, particularly during this time of crisis.

Half term activities for young people with disabilities Additionally, SHARP also provides tailored sessions for young people with special education needs and disabilities (SEND) for those aged between 11 and 25 years old during the same period, or during each school holiday. The sessions are run from the Roupell Park Community Centre, and also on the MUGA.

The next holiday provision coming up is the Summer Half Term Holiday, from 29 May until 2 June 2023. There will be more information available about the activities here, shortly.
