Dads’ Wednesday (and occasionally for Mums too)
We're excited to announce the launch of our newest initiative, the "Dads Hub," a specially designed session in collaboration with Unity Matters and St Michael's Fellowship. These sessions take place every Wednesday from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm at our community centre (by Hyperion House).
The sessions provide a safe and welcoming environment and much-needed support for men to connect, share experiences, and support one another, recognizing them as an underserved and potentially vulnerable group. Men often find it challenging to seek support for their own self-development or through their social groups, so these sessions offer a dedicated space for discussions on parenthood and other significant topics chosen by the participants.
Each session covers a topic, but not exclusively:
- 3rd July: FREE Paediatric First Aid training for Dads & Mums
- 10th July: Low-cost no-cost activity ideas for summer
- 17th July: Managing Challenging Behaviour
- 24th July: Boxercise with Bez
- 31st July: Raising Resilient Children
The sessions are FREE of charge, with food and refreshments provided at each session, so all you need to do is bring yourself.
We encourage all dads and men to join us and be a part of this empowering initiative. For more information, please contact Angela Russell at unitymatterscic@gmail.com or phone 07508 074 921.
