Half Term Activities and Summer Programme

In partnership with the local grassroots charity CEF Lyncx (https://cefi.org.uk/home), we run holiday provision (SHARP) every six weeks during each school holiday. Other RMOs, particularly Blenheim Gardens RMO, have also partnered in this project to minimise costs for all and maximise attendance. The sessions are open to all young people from Lambeth, so it’s not just for those from our estates.

Last year, 1200 young people in total took part in the 48 sessions delivered over the period, with an average attendance of 190 young people per day.

The sessions are run during the Spring Holidays, Summer Half Term, Summer Holidays, Autumn Half Term, Christmas Holidays, and Spring Half Term, amounting to 48 days in total, 6 hours per day. Each session offers a diverse range of fun, active, and learning activities for young people between the ages of 7 and 16. This also includes volunteering and paid opportunities for those who were previously involved and are over 16.

The activities delivered during each period include (but are not limited to) sports and physical activities, arts and crafts, creative arts, leadership workshops, bicycle repair-and-ride sessions, and healthy food. Each day, we provide a cooked meal for all participants, recognizing how valuable this is, particularly during this time of crisis.

The Summer Programme 2024, called the BootCamp, is already open for subscriptions. It will run from Monday, 29th July until Friday, 23rd August, Monday to Friday from 10 am until 4 pm. It offers a range of activities from arts and crafts, music and dance workshops, multi-sports, leadership and self-development workshops, bicycle workshops, and provides a healthy cooked lunch every day. All this is FREE of charge, so apply early not to miss this unique opportunity. The hub where the activities are taking place is at Windmill Gardens, SW2 5DA.
