‘The Resident of the year’ – Lambeth Council, Sept 2016.

‘A Good Neighbour Award’ – NFTMO, June 2016

The prestigious Lambeth Community Pride awards evening was held at the Kia Oval cricket ground and hosted by the illustrious Miranda Brawn, barrister and business woman, on the 6th September 2016.

The awards were handed out in eight categories, including Best Community Garden, Best Food Growing Project, Young Resident of the Year and Resident of the Year and were given out by various persons, nominated for their special achievements in particular categories. Last but not least, of the award presentations, was the 8th category, Resident of the Year, in which Molly was shortlisted, and then announced as the winner! This was the only award presented by the Mayor Cllr Saleha Jaffer, this being a special, very personal category.

This year there was a record number of nominations, with 165 entries in total, which makes it even more so precious and special.

Earlier in the year, Molly won a similar nomination, a ‘Good Neighbour’ award, at national level at the NFTMO conference, which is held annually in Stratford upon Avon.

By winning two awards in the same year, we can say that this is Molly’s year but also ours, Roupell Park’s! We feel privileged that Molly provided us with an opportunity to apply on her behalf as her contribution to the wider community stands out and is obvious; but to her this is just what she does and all with a smile!

Please find the full text of the application attached, where you will be able to find out in more detail about the life and work of Molly, as well as a programme from the Lambeth Community Pride Awards ceremony.
